Estate Plan Updates for Existing Adler Estate Law Clients

Welcome. If you’re here, it means something in your life has changed — or you’re wondering whether your estate plan still reflects what matters most to you right now.

That’s completely normal. Estate plans are not static documents. Families grow, finances shift, relationships evolve, and the law itself can change. My goal is to help you assess whether an update is needed and, if so, guide you through that process thoughtfully and efficiently.

How the Update Process Works

Step 1: Tell us what’s changed

The first step is to complete a short update form. This allows me to understand what has shifted since we last worked together and what questions or concerns you may have.

In many cases, I can confirm next steps or provide guidance without the need for a meeting.

Step 2: Determine whether a meeting is recommended

If a conversation would be helpful, please identify your meeting preference:

  • Phone call
  • Zoom meeting
  • In-person meeting

Because update work requires advance review of your existing documents and careful preparation, update meetings are scheduled on a paid basis.

Note that if it has been more than five years since your estate plan was created, or if you’ve experienced a significant life change, in most cases I will recommend that we schedule a planning meeting to revisit your entire plan.

Step 3: Recommendations and next steps

After reviewing your update, I’ll let you know whether:

  • no changes are needed at this time,
  • a limited update is recommended, or
  • a more comprehensive revision would be beneficial.

If document changes are appropriate, we’ll outline the scope of work and next steps before moving forward.

About Fees for Updates

Estate planning updates vary widely depending on what has changed and the complexity involved. Some updates are straightforward; others require more in-depth review and drafting.

Meeting fees and a flat fee for updates will be discussed clearly in advance, so you know what to expect before we proceed.

This structure allows me to prepare carefully and give your situation the attention it deserves, while keeping the process transparent and respectful of your time and resources.

Ready to Get Started?

If you’d like to move forward, please complete the update form below. Once it’s submitted, my office will follow up with the next appropriate step.

A Final Note

I truly value the trust you placed in me when we created your estate plan. My intention with this process is to make updates feel supportive and manageable — not burdensome — while ensuring that your plan continues to serve you and the people you care about.
